Holly Park, HUD Hope VI, replaces existing public housing built during the 1940s with a new, dense neighborhood of mixed uses for residents of diverse incomes. The master plan extends the existing street grid into the 36-acre site and is organized around a spine of public parks, providing a pedestrian connection between residences and neighborhood shopping and transit. The 419 new housing units vary in type and density; from row houses on the interior of the site to apartments-over-retail along the perimeter streets. This master plan includes planning of the future Light Rail Station Area on an additional 11-acre site, building upon the vitality of the existing Asian neighborhood shopping district.
